the history of a great idea
the schweinesound studio was founded in 1987 as one of switzerlands first "independent – low – budget" recording studios in the "sedel", a former prison building near the beatiful city of lucerne.
during the years, hundreds of productions with more or less known
bands have been realized.
alltough rock'n'roll is a fast-living business, you might
remember some of the following names:
sportsguitar, central services, the reaction, take a virgin,
dnjepr, microkids, m.d.moon, nada, the monsters, melk them, such a
touch, hi grip. rag mama rag, la banda, morbus wilson, al pesto,
bon's angels, league of spiritual discovery, hösli, fearside,
superdeelux, dodo luther & friends, radioactive, nod, yukon, andy
trinkler, broken glasses, red rain coat, neutones, stop the shoppers,
anyway, suddendaze, j.bordelli, ndt, hopscotch, gnu, the flying
shrimps,valium speed, dead end cowboys, schwanzteufel, suchas, adam,
borel, com-4, van dan, shilf, hamp goes wild, oxygen, blue rabbit,
st.nude club.
this list mentions only very few of many more . . . they all have
been "in" at their time and some of them – believe it or not - have
been real blockbusters!
well, time moves on, the equipment has changed from a simple
eight-track tape recorder in the very beginning to a twentyfour
track machine with dolbys as well as computer-based harddisk
recording.
but the spirit of the early days remaines: take these sticks, pick up your guitars, hit'em hard, boys, we wanna see the meters in the red...
